Compress an image to 100 KB

Get any photo under 100 KB for an online form, WhatsApp or your website. Free, no login, and your photo never leaves your phone or computer.

Your photo stays on your phone or computer. Nothing is uploaded.

Maximum file size

We find the highest JPEG quality that fits. 1 KB here is 1,000 bytes, so the file fits whichever way a website counts.

Size

The pixels stay as they are. Use this to only shrink the file or change the DPI.

DPI

DPI is only a label for printing. It does not change the pixels or make the photo sharper.

Save as

JPEG is what Myntra, Flipkart, Amazon and Meesho ask for, and the smallest file for a photo.

Your new photo will show here.

What fits in 100 KB

100 KB is small. A phone photo straight from the camera is usually 2 to 6 MB, twenty to sixty times more. Turning the quality down closes only part of that gap; the rest has to come from fewer pixels.

We put three real saree photos through this tool. None fitted under 100 KB at full size, and none fitted at 1080 x 1440 either, which came to 123 to 141 KB at quality 50. They fitted at 550 to 658 pixels wide, at quality 73 to 77, which still looks clean on a phone.

A plain photo, a passport-style photo or a scanned signature has far less detail and fits at a bigger size. That is why the tool measures your photo instead of using a fixed rule.

Where a 100 KB limit comes up

  • Online forms. Job, exam, admission and KYC forms often cap a photo or signature at 100 KB, sometimes with a pixel size too.
  • WhatsApp catalogues and broadcasts. Small photos load at once on a slow connection, so buyers scroll on rather than wait. More on that in our guide to marketing a saree business online.
  • Your own website. Thumbnails and collection grids load faster at 100 KB or less.

How to get a photo under 100 KB

  1. 1

    Crop first if you can

Cut away the floor, the wall and anything that is not the subject. Fewer pixels to store means more quality for the rest.

  2. 2

    Choose the photo

Under 100 KB is already picked. The photo opens in your browser and is not uploaded.

  3. 3

    Take the suggested size

If the photo is too big, a Try button offers a width and height that fits at quality 70 or better. Tap it.

  4. 4

    Download

Check the bytes in the table, then tap Download.

If a form gives an exact size in pixels, pick Custom size and type it in; the limit stays on. For other limits, the image compressor takes any size in KB or MB.

Allowed more room? The 500 KB compressor keeps a photo big enough to zoom into.

Uploading to a marketplace instead? Those want bigger photos: Myntra asks for 1080 x 1440 and 500 KB to 1 MB. The product image resizer makes each marketplace’s size in one step.

Questions about 100 KB photos

How do I reduce a photo to 100 KB?

Choose the photo here; Under 100 KB is already picked. If the photo is too big to fit at a decent quality, tap the size the tool suggests, then Download. The table shows the exact bytes before you download.

Why does my photo not fit under 100 KB?

Because it has too many pixels. A phone photo has 8 to 20 million, and 100 KB holds a fraction of that. In our tests, busy saree photos only fitted once they were 550 to 658 pixels wide. The tool works out that size for your photo and offers it as one button.

Will a 100 KB photo be accepted on an online form?

If the form asks for under 100 KB, yes: the tool counts 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, which is the stricter reading, so the file is under the limit either way. Check the form for a pixel size or a JPG-only rule too, and use Custom size if it gives one.

Is 100 KB enough for a product photo?

For a thumbnail, a WhatsApp catalogue or a fast web page, yes. Not for a marketplace listing: Myntra wants 1080 x 1440, which came to 123 to 141 KB in our tests even at the lowest quality we allow.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Everything runs inside your browser. Your photo is not sent to SareeViz or anyone else.
