Product image sizes for each marketplace
Each preset in the resizer makes the size below. The numbers are the same ones our marketplace guides give, so you can trust they match the rules we quote.
| Where | Size the resizer makes | What they ask for |
|---|---|---|
| Myntra | 1080 x 1440, under 1 MB | At least 1080 x 1440, 3:4, JPEG, 500 KB to 1 MB, light grey |
| Amazon | 1500 x 2000 | At least 1,500 px on the longest side, pure white main photo |
| Flipkart | 1000 x 1000 | At least 1000 x 1000, JPEG, light grey |
| Meesho | Your photo's own size, as JPEG | No published size rule; JPEG, no logo or watermark |
| Shopify | 2048 x 2048 | 2048 x 2048 for square photos, under 20 MB |
| Instagram post | 1080 x 1350 | A 4:5 portrait |
| WhatsApp or Instagram story | 1080 x 1920 | A full-screen 9:16 |
For the full photo rules of each one, such as the views, the model and what gets a photo rejected, see our marketplace image guide.
Selling on your own Shopify store? Our guide to Shopify product image size explains when a full-length saree looks better in portrait than in the 2048 x 2048 square Shopify suggests.
Crop or add a border?
Most phone photos are not 3:4 or square. When your photo is a different shape from the size you pick, the resizer asks how to fit it.
- Add a border keeps the whole garment and fills the gap with colour. Use this when cropping would cut the pallu, the hem or the border.
- Crop to fill fills the frame and trims the edges equally from the centre. Use this when there is spare background around the product.
The border colour matters. Myntra and Flipkart want clothing on light grey, so their presets use light grey (#f2f2f2); our Flipkart image guide shows what that looks like. Amazon wants the main photo on pure white, so its preset uses white.
A border only fills the gap around your photo; the background in the photo itself stays. To replace that too, use the white background tool, which cuts the product out first.
How to resize a product photo
- 1
Choose your photo
Tap Choose a photo, or drop a JPEG, PNG or WebP into the box. It opens in your browser and is not uploaded.
- 2
Pick where it is going
Choose Myntra, Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Shopify or a social size, or type your own width and height.
- 3
Choose a border or a crop
If your photo is a different shape, pick Add a border or Crop to fill, and the border colour.
- 4
Set a file size limit if you need one
The resizer finds the highest quality that fits. Myntra already starts at 1 MB.
- 5
Download
Check the before and after numbers, then tap Download. Repeat for each photo in the listing.
Is the size already right and only the file too big? These start with the limit already set:
- Compress image to 1 MB, Myntra’s upper limit and most upload boxes
- Compress image to 500 KB, for forms, website builders and your own store
Start from the biggest photo you have
Shrinking a photo keeps it sharp. Enlarging one only spreads the same detail over more pixels, so a small photo stretched to 1500 x 2000 looks soft when a buyer zooms in. The resizer warns you when it has to enlarge.
Most phones today take photos of 3000 pixels or more on the long side, which is enough for every size here. If the file is then too big, use the image compressor or set a size limit above.
A printer or catalogue maker asking for 300 DPI is a different question. DPI is a label, not a size, and our DPI converter explains it and changes it without touching the pixels.
Questions about product image sizes
What size should a Myntra product image be?
At least 1080 x 1440 pixels, portrait 3:4, JPEG, with each file between 500 KB and 1 MB. Clothing goes on a light grey background, not white. Pick Myntra in the resizer and it makes 1080 x 1440 with a light grey border if your photo is a different shape, under a 1 MB limit.
What is the Flipkart product image size?
Flipkart asks for at least 1000 x 1000 pixels in JPEG, and a light grey background for clothing. The Flipkart preset makes exactly 1000 x 1000, the minimum, as a square. A bigger photo is also fine, so pick a custom size if you want more detail for zoom.
What is the Amazon product image size?
Amazon asks for at least 1,500 pixels on the longest side, and the main photo must be on pure white. The Amazon preset makes 1500 x 2000, a 3:4 portrait that meets the rule, and adds a white border rather than grey.
What image size does Meesho want?
Meesho publishes no image size or shape rule. Its seller guide asks for a clear front photo in JPEG with no logo or watermark, and live saree listings mix square, 4:5 and 2:3 photos. The Meesho preset keeps your photo's size and saves it as JPEG.
What is the best Shopify product image size?
Shopify says 2048 x 2048 pixels usually displays best for square product photos, and files must be under 20 MB. Use the same shape for every product so your collection pages line up.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The resizer runs inside your browser on your phone or computer. Your photo is not sent to SareeViz or anyone else, and there is no login.
Will resizing make my photo blurry?
Making a photo smaller keeps it sharp. Making it bigger than it is cannot add detail, so the resizer warns you when that happens. Start from the largest photo your phone takes.
