What fits in 1 MB

A marketplace-sized photo, with room to spare. At 1080 x 1440, our three saree photos came to 513 to 576 KB at quality 95, the top of the range the tool tries.

A full-size camera photo is closer to the line. The smallest of our photos, 2,196 pixels wide, fitted at quality 70. The two bigger ones, 3,422 and 3,712 pixels wide with all-over prints, were over 1 MB even at quality 50 and had to be made smaller.

Where 1 MB comes up

  • Myntra. Files must be between 500 KB and 1 MB, JPEG, at least 1080 x 1440.
  • Upload boxes. Many forms, website builders and CRMs stop at 1 MB per photo. For the ones that stop at 500 KB, use the 500 KB compressor.
  • Sending photos. A 1 MB photo still looks sharp but sends quickly over email or a slow connection.

    For Myntra, choose Myntra under Size: 1080 x 1440 on light grey, under 1 MB.

    If the photo cannot fit at quality 50, tap the Try button for a size checked to fit.

Questions about 1 MB photos

How do I compress an image to 1 MB?

Choose the photo here; Under 1 MB is already picked. The tool finds the highest JPEG quality under 1 MB. If the photo is too big even at quality 50, tap the smaller size it suggests, then Download.

Why is my photo still over 1 MB?

Some camera photos of busy prints are over 1 MB even at quality 50. Two of our three test photos were. The fix is fewer pixels: the 3,712-pixel-wide one fitted at 2453 x 3679, quality 76, which the tool worked out and offered as one button.

What file size does Myntra accept?

Myntra's image rules ask for JPEG files between 500 KB and 1 MB, at least 1080 x 1440 pixels in 3:4. Pick Myntra in the product image resizer and it sets the size and the 1 MB limit together, and warns if the file comes in under 500 KB.

Is 1 MB 1,000 KB or 1,024 KB?

The tool counts 1 MB as 1,000,000 bytes, the smaller of the two, so a file under 1 MB here is under 1 MB everywhere.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is sent to SareeViz or anyone else.
